DYNAPACK DYNO Introducing a radically different approach to chassis dynamometer testing.... The Dynapack! -the only unique and technically sophisticated dyno available today on the market. The Dynapack eliminates the problem of tyre slippage and the inconsistencies of the tyre to roller interface - while our competitors try to pretend that these problems don’t exist. The Dynapack is a true load-brake dyno - just like the best engine dynos. It directly measures the work being performed, while others just estimate it. Sinceit has real hydraulic load brakes,it allows you to perform tests that simple inertia-dynos are incapable of. You can now have unprecedented control over the vehicle with a degree of resolution and precision that has to be seen to be believed. The Dynapack Dyno's are used by serious tuning companys as the only real solution for accurate tuning.
Our 2WD Dyno can measure 3000Nm per axle which is ample for most applications. Power Runs take a lot less time than with a rolling Road as there is no issue with slip. This allows us to measure your car more safely and accurately than with any rolling road.
The Dynapack is key to our success in producing some of the best tuning files and conversions available today. We can reliably measure minute differences not seen on other machines. Some examples include: - .010" change in spark plug gap- Differences between various lubricants - The alternator load when the headlights are turned on (in real time as well) - A single step fuel jet change - Different spark plugs - Detonation- with the roller tyre interface eliminated the noise of the dyno test procedure is dramatically reduced Detonation is audible even without det cans. The downside to the hub dyno is the time taken to remove the wheels, fit the hub adapters andposition the vehicle on the dynapacks. This means that progress is slow compared with traditional rolling roads.- Power graphs are completely accurate without the smoothing effect of a rolling road. It takes excellent tuning tuning to produce a smooth graph.THE TRUTH IS HARD TO HANDLE.
We have found that the Dynapack tells no lies. There is no way to cheat the dynowith the only operator input being the TCF factor which is a transmission correction factor. This isclearly displayed on all printouts and ranges from 15 to 25 %with a Honda having typically a 15% loss from flywheel to wheels and a Supra 17%. Rolling Roads calculate loss figureswhich come from the rundown test after the dyno pull. This is a nonsense as the losses on the way down have no real reflection on the losses while the run takes place. The dynapack uses aset figure which although is still notas accurateas an engine dyno for flywheel power is much better thantesting the inertiaof the wheelsand the transmission slowing down with no load.Direct to Hub hydraulics are the most controlled way possible to absorbpower and so repeatibility of the machine is incredible.
We haveretested cars monthsafter being tuned with only 0.3 bhp of a difference in graphs.Reversing a car of a Rolling Road and back on again and retesting canreveal as much as 10bhp difference. Some tuners claim that the manufactures underrate their power figures. We thought the same untilwe used the dynapack. Typically we see no more than 2-5bhp +_stock max quoted by the manufacturer. A 320D BMW163bhp usually makes 157-158 with a golf 105bhp making a max of 108bhp. If you want to see what your engine is really capable off look no further,we can provide you with a figure to within 0.2 bhp. Dyno runs from 75+ VAT . ( All Remaps include dynapack testing).
